The ability to track, monitor and maintain current or potential customers has never been so easy. CRM Software has come a long way in today’s market. Used integrated into your ERP or stand alone CRM allows a company to easily separate clients from prospects and create activities to benefit these relationships appropriately.

CRM has two main sections but unlike its counter parts ERP, e-commerce, and Warehousing CRM allows you to use the software for either or and doesn’t make you but something specific to your needs.

CRM Clients Addition – This section of the CRM is for your current clients. You can create an account, add a contact, create company notes, and create additional activities. The CRM allows you to control all activities regarding any specific account and allows you to set other options as well. This is a great tool to follow up on complaints, create work projects and assign tasks to employees.

CRM Marketing and Sales Addition – This section of the CRM is very advanced and designed specifically to gain new clients and increase your company’s sales. Similar to the CRM Clients Addition you can add an account, create activities such as cold calls, call backs, information requests, follow up calls and more.

CRM for Managers – This is something every company benefits from. CRM gives Managers the ability to monitor and track the performance of their sales reps. You can see how many calls a specific sales rep makes in a day, week, month or year. If employed with the company long enough the Manager can compare year to date calls and productivity ensuring the employee is improving the work output and in fact increasing the amount of work or calls being completed. With this ability the company can weed out the employees with little or no productivity and replace them with a stronger and more productive sale force team.

When considering the purchase of a new CRM Software Package you should consider the following.

  • Can the software be integrated to your current ERP to import client lists?
  • Can you easily import prospect lists purchased by Dun and Brads or a similar company?
  • Is the CRM Software integrated to share events using Microsoft Outlook?

Ensure you do many online demonstrations regarding this software. Just because it looks nice and neat doesn’t mean the software will help your Customer Service Managers provide better quality service or increase your sales department productivity.
